The essential oil is relatively expensive, but it is very popular to consumers.

In order to seek for private interests, those informal beauty centers use BB oil or other common oil with extra low value to pretend the top-grade essential oil to serve consumers. The BB oil is a common oil without any beauty and health preservation efficacy, it can only exert the function of lubrication. I. By color

Most of essential oils have pure and clear color, with crystal-clear quality. If you see an abnormal color, whichever the essential oil is blackened or jet black, you can judge that the essential oil is not a formal and authentic product, so you can make choice with care. 

2. By smell 

The pure and authentic essential oil has a pure and mild smell, with the sense of depth; if you smell it for a longer time, you will feel more fragrance of plant. However the BB oil has a pungent smell and it may make you feel dizzy, nausea or discomfortable. 

3. By quality

The top-grade authentic essential oil has a strong penetrability. If you apply the essential oil on the back of your hand or the inner side of your wrist, and massage it several times with your finger, the top-grade essential oil will be instantaneously absorbed, and no shiny grease will be left on the skin. Alternatively, you can observe carefully whether there is the foreign matter in the essential oil. If the essential oil is made by squeezing the pericarp by taking the traditional frozen squeezing method, few residuals may contain in the product, which may lower the quality of product. 

4. By the degree of fusion 

The top-grade authentic essential oil has a strong lipophilicity; when mixing with the base oil, the top-grade authentic essential oil will get full fusion with the base oil, and their molecules will make full fusion too. If not, you can judge it as the BB oil. This is because that the BB oil or other common oils contain the chemical synthetic or waxiness, which hinders the full fusion with the base oil. 

5. By package

The essential oil is usually kept in the dark-color closed small glass bottle, with the particular strong acid-resistant and strong alkali-resistant bottle cap to prevent sunlight and oxygen from penetration. In such case the essential oil will not volatilize and deteriorate. If in the good conservation condition (if storing in the place with normal temperature), the essential oil can be kept for two years at least, or the essential oil with good quality can even be kept for four or five years. The product packed by the bottle with the dropper is 3%~10% diluent essential oil, and is not the pure essential oil. The label on the bottle of pure plant essential oil must show the purity.
